Established in 1854 and regarded as one of the countries pre-imminent Maori Boys Boarding Schools, Te Aute College has a rich history of educating well known Maori luminaries such as Howard Morrison, Sir Sidney Moko Mead, Sir Āpirana Ngata, George Nepia, Sir Māui Pōmare, Pita Sharples, The Most Reverend Willim Brown Turei, and Piri Weepu amongst others. Te Aute’s dynamic new Principal commissioned us to update the brand and marketing plan, while paying respect to the schools legacy. We were approached for the job based on our reputation in the Maori space and are currently mid roll-out.

With this logo evolution we went right back to referencing the original crest, to strike a balance between modernising the logo while retaining the 162 years of proud and rich history. It was imperative we showed respect for the past whilst adding relevance for today.
